Research has shown that daily tasks - like carrying too much to school - may cause back problems. Many bags fail to distribute the load evenly, resulting in strain on the spine, discomfort and potentially serious damage.

Carrying a heavy, badly designed bag over one shoulder puts your child at significant risk of back injury, the results of which may stay with them for life. Click to see extract from Daily Mail Consumer Test - 24 September 2002

Working with leading ergonomists, we have developed a new bag designed to reduce the risk of both injury and long term damage. Among its selling points are:- it has a thickly padded back panel and lumbar curve, which when worn correctly, will balance the load and ease the strain on the spine.
Backpacks that protect young spines

The recommended bag load weight for senior school years is between 10% and 20% of the wearer's body weight.

To gain the maximum benefit from the use of these bags they should be adjusted so that the curve at the base of the unique padded back panel rests on the buttocks. The load is then supported and reduced the strain on the neck and shoulders
