Once
Once, I use to be so fit,
Dashing about, no time to sit
Then, alas, as time went on
My former self, I could not rely upon.
And then my back began to ache,
My head, it felt that it would break
With legs of jelly and hands so weak,
Walking so far would take all week!
The job, also, it had to go -
Was there a lighter one? - Oh no!
But now I have a little hope,
A self help group, to help me cope
To make Friends, anew, to be less broody,
Being in pain makes me moody.
Though better, my pains are not,
At least I feel that I can trot!
