Meridian TV filmed a piece on the campaign from King's International School in Camberley, where students
have taken part in a study to monitor the effect of specially designed seat wedges on back pain during
lessons. The film crew plan to return to the school to do a follow up piece during
BackCare Awareness Week in October.

Ken Livingstone,
Vice Patron of BackCare, and Mayor of London,
has offered advertising space on the London Underground for two weeks
at the end of September. We will be displaying our striking new campaign poster at many sites, so watch out
for them when travelling through the Capital.
Message of Support from Ken Livingstone for Protecting Young Backs
I would like to congratulate BackCare for their work in raising awareness of back problems and pain and how much we can
all do for ourselves in preventing these problems.
Back pain in children and young people has a huge impact on their lives, affecting their attendance and progress at school
and their future potential as they go into adulthood.
I wish BackCare every success with their ‘Protecting Young Backs’ campaign and hope that their message will reach everyone
in a position to address the risk factors for back pain in children, as well as encouraging children and young people to
have healthy lifestyles and to look after their backs.
