Self Help Survey

Case study - Steven Smith shares his experiences
I had tried nearly every treatment option available for my crippling back pains obtaining no improvement. Then 6 months ago I learned about a book called “Healing Back Pain”. Its author, Dr John Sarno, has cured many thousands of people with back pain and many others have managed to heal themselves by just reading the book. To begin with I was very sceptical, however, for two reasons I was willing to try. Firstly the cure required no physical intervention and secondly the characteristics of typical patients matched my own in many ways:
  • Chronic back pain for more than 3 months.
  • Perfectionist traits.
  • Tendency to be compulsive.
  • Very responsible.
  • Ambitious.
  • Need for recognition.
  • Goodist, need to be nice pleasant, accommodating and helpful.
  • The pain moves around.
Could this also be you?
I started to read the book and within a few days I was sleeping better. Then after a couple of weeks most of my severe pain had gone. I continued to re-read the book a little each day, as suggested, and within 6 weeks was amazingly cured. I could do everything again, including waterskiing. The pain was not due to the abnormalities identified on the X-rays and MRI scan.

Cause of pain.
Basically the pain is a result of subconscious anger. This can be cured ‘simply’ by learning about and understanding the causes of the suppressed anger. Unfortunately, it takes rather more that the few words available to me here to fully explain. But, if you share similar characteristics to those described above, then, I very much urge you to follow this up.

I am very grateful for having learned of this diagnosis and cure, and have set up a website with more information and links. If anyone wishes to discuss this further, do contact me. I am more than happy to talk about my case.

I would also very much like to learn from everyone who manages to reduce their pain through reading Dr John Sarno’s book. Please email me.
